Manual Starters Overview
Manual starters are simple devices operated manually without requiring expert intervention. They feature a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts.
Important Note: Manual starters don't break control circuits during power loss, which means motors could restart automatically when power returns. This may require safety considerations in certain applications.

How Starter Motors Work
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, activating it along with the starter drive (Bendix gear system). The mechanism engages the vehicle's flywheel, cranking the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles.
Once the engine is running, the starter motor disengages from the flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
