How Starter Motors Work

When the engine is activated (via start button or ignition key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, which activates the starter drive (Bendix gear system). The rotating starter motor engages the vehicle's flywheel, cranking the engine to initiate combustion. Once the engine is running, the starter motor automatically disengages.
