Manual Starters Overview
Manual starters are devices operated manually, designed for simple and straightforward operation without requiring expert intervention. The starter includes a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts.

Manual starters do not break control circuits during power loss, meaning motors could restart automatically when power is restored. This may be a critical safety consideration in some applications.

Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers charge from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, activating it along with the starter drive (Bendix gear system).
The starter motor engages the vehicle's flywheel, cranking the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine is running, the mechanism disconnects the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark.
