Manual Starters

Manual starters are devices operated manually, designed for simple and straightforward operation without requiring expert intervention. The starter includes a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts.

Note: Manual starters do not break control circuits during power loss, which may cause automatic restart when power returns - an important safety consideration for certain applications.
Starter Motor Operation

When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers charge from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, activating both the motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system).

The electrical charge engages the vehicle's flywheel, allowing the starter motor to crank the engine and initiate the combustion process. Once the engine is running properly, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
