Manual Starters Overview
Manual starters are devices operated manually to control motor operation. These starters provide simple, straightforward operation without requiring expert intervention. The starter includes a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts.
Note: Manual starters don't break the control circuit during power loss, which means motors could restart automatically when power returns. This may require safety considerations in certain applications.

Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transmits power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor.
The electrical current activates the starter motor and engages the starter drive (Bendix gear system) with the vehicle's flywheel. As the starter motor turns, it cranks the engine to initiate the combustion process in petrol and diesel engines.
Once the engine is running, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
