Manual Starters Overview
Manual starters are devices operated manually, designed for simple operation without requiring expert intervention. They feature a button or rotary knob that controls the connected equipment through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts to start or stop the motor.
Note: Manual starters do not break control circuits during power loss, which means motors may restart automatically when power is restored - an important safety consideration for certain applications.

Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, which engages the vehicle's flywheel through a gear system (starter drive or Bendix). The starter motor cranks the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine is running, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the gear and flywheel.
