Manual Starters Overview
Manual starters are devices operated manually, offering straightforward operation without requiring expert intervention. These starters feature a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off. The mechanical linkages in these buttons make contacts open or close, starting or stopping the motor.
Important Safety Note: Manual starters do not break control circuits during power loss, meaning motors could restart automatically when voltage is restored. This may be a critical safety consideration in some applications.

Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers charge from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, activating it along with the starter drive (Bendix gear system). The electrical charge engages the vehicle's flywheel, cranking the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles.
Once the engine is running properly, the mechanism disconnects the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
