Manual Starters
Manual starters are devices operated manually, offering simple operation without requiring expert intervention. The starter includes a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off. Mechanical linkages in the buttons make contacts open or close, starting or stopping the motor.
Note: This starter type doesn't break a control circuit during power loss, meaning the motor could restart automatically when voltage is restored - an important safety consideration for some applications.

How Starter Motors Work
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers charge from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor.
The electrical current activates the starter motor and engages the starter drive (Bendix gear system), which connects to the vehicle's flywheel. As the starter motor turns, it cranks the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles.
Once the engine is running, the mechanism disconnects the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to operate.
