Manual starters are devices operated manually to control connected equipment. These starters feature simple operation with buttons or rotary knobs that mechanically open or close contacts to start or stop motors. Note that manual starters don't break control circuits during power loss, which may cause automatic restart when power returns.
When the engine is activated (via start button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, engaging the starter drive (Bendix gear) with the vehicle's flywheel. The starter motor cranks the engine to initiate combustion. Once the engine runs independently, the starter disengages automatically.
