Manual Starters Overview
Manual starters are devices operated manually, offering simple operation without requiring expert intervention. They feature a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off. The mechanical linkages in these buttons make contacts open or close, starting or stopping the motor.

Manual starters do not break control circuits during power loss, meaning motors could restart automatically when voltage is restored. This may be a critical safety consideration in some applications.

Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transmits the charge from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, activating it along with the starter drive (Bendix gear system).
The electrical charge engages the vehicle's flywheel, and as the starter motor turns, it cranks the engine to initiate the combustion process. Once the engine is running, the mechanism disconnects the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark.
